Brazil’s Coffee Exports, At A 10-Year High Value, Reached $5B in 2021

Brazil is the world’s biggest coffee-producing country and fulfils about 40% of the demand by supplies to other countries. Brazil’s coffee exports are the highest in the world since it produces one-third of the coffee made in other countries.

The total amount of coffee produced in Brazil for 2021 represents a drop as per different sources. Yet the value of exports for Brazilian coffee didn’t seem to decline. Even in a pandemic-struck world, the exports only grew and are expected to grow further.

Brazil’s Coffee Exports – Quarterly

The export data of Brazil represented below provides quarterly values of the Brazilian coffee exports. The time period follows the first quarter of 2021 to the second quarter of 2022. The exports started off impressively at the beginning of 2021 with total exports amounting to $1.42 billion. The value of exports declined from Q2-2021 till the next quarter (Q3-2021).

The fourth quarter picked up exports with an amount of $1.85 billion, followed by the next quarter and the beginning of 2022 with total exports of $2.31 billion. In Q2-2022, the value of exports decreased by $321.57 million with a percentile of 13.88% decrease. This indicates that Brazil’s coffee exports declined in 2022, but values are still comparatively higher than in 2021.
