China Flower Exports ‘Rose’ In 2021, Industry Will Flourish

The flower industry is a really disorganized industry with fragmented market trends and companies that produces accessories, gifts, vases, loose cut flowers & pre-cut flower arrangements, artificial flowers and potted flowers and plants. It is probably the oldest market that still prevails in the modern generations and is still flourishing in quite lower fractions. Evidently, China flower exports increased in 2021.

The flower (or Floral) industry in the US was valued at $15.2 billion for the year 2020 with a magnificent growth spiked by $14.18 billion for the next year (2021). The exports of cut flowers amounted to $14.5 million in the first quarter of 2021, accounting for the highest export value in 2021. In 2020, the first quarter amounted to $10.3 million. The second quarter of 2021 amounted to a total worth of exports of $13.1 million, followed by $13.7 million in the third quarter of 2021.

China Cut Flower Exports – Year-On-Year Comparison

The exports of cut flowers in 2021 from China are increased by an export value of $7.7 million. The final sum amount of exports in 2020 amounted to $91.8 million, while the final sum amount of exports amounted to $99.5 million in 2021.

The total exports of uncut flowers from China in 2021 amounted to $65.4 million.

The exports of uncut flowers from China increased by an export value of $1.2 million in 2021. The final total amount for 2020 (till the third quarter) is $38.5 million, and the total amount for 2021 (till the third quarter as well) is $39.7 million.

China Flower Industry

China’s flower industry is the biggest flower industry in Asia, with Yunnan province being at the centre of it. China’s Southern Yunnan province is the biggest single market for the wholesale flower industry and cut-flowers trade, which accounted for 50% of China’s cut flower market. The seed that sows in China since 1984 is ready to bloom furthermore in the near future.

The Netherlands is the largest market of flowers in the world, with a global contribution of about 50-60% in the annual flower production. China is also emerging as the top market for flowers, even let it is in Asia only. China’s flower market will bloom and flourish with the passing of time.
